Each of these shows a cohort of undergraduate students, rounded down to their fall year of entry (a.k.a. when they took their first class with us), and the distribution of the # of requirements they have remaining.

For the purposes of this page, a “requirement” is a course that students must take in the “CSC” or “CPE” subjects. Note that not all of these are 4-unit classes, e.g. senior project.

The red bar shows how many requirements they should have remaining, according to the flow chart.

These are as of the beginning of the year (fall 2018).

There are a number of known problems with this data. First, it takes no account of courses taken outside of Cal Poly.

Second, it assumes that all students are on the 2017–2019 catalog.

Partially compensating for both of these, students that have earned credit in later courses (e.g. 357) are assumed no longer to require earlier ones (e.g. 202).
