The really remarkable thing about this picture is the fact that you don't see any of the five hundred people involved in the race; this is because this picture is taken along the back stretch of the track, where I am taking a brief break from shrieking at our riders to keep pedalling through the turns. I blame my over-zealous attitude on the coffee that I drank that morning; after three days of voluntary caffeine abstention, two cups of french roast left me with enough energy to pull a bus.
